After digging around some more, all I could come up with is that currently the right files need to be installed in the GAC which means having admin access to the web server. Putting the .dll in the bin directory is not going to hack it. On the bright side, there may be an intermediate release that will allow us to use the bin directory to work around this.

well, you shoud be able to drop the dll on the bin folder if you're able to run the site at full trust mode.
